. 6-6, 4-4. . Cavaliers . 8. team. 888

The Cavaliers were one of the most entertaining schools in the country this season. Virginia could not stop anyone defensively, but their offense was nearly unstoppable as well. Brennan Armstrong was one of the better quarterbacks in college football.

Unfortunately for the V-Men, head coach Bronco Mendenhall decided to step down as head coach after their bowl game. Clemson offensive coordinator Tony Elliot has emerged as a candidate and former UVA player and Penn State defensive coordinator Anthony Poindexter.

847. . 6-6, 4-4. . Hokies . 7. team

The Virginia Tech Hokies named long-time James Franklin right hand Brent Pry as its next head coach, succeeding Justin Fuente, who was fired a couple of weeks ago. An Altoona, Penn., native, Pry was a graduate assistant under Hokie legend Frank Beamer.

Beamer made the Virginia Tech job look easier than it is. Blacksburg is geographically closer to Tennessee and Kentucky than to the Tidewater area. However, the Hokies have resources and a desire to be a force in the ACC. If Pry can reestablish the Newport News/Virginia Beach relationship, the Hokies can roll again.

. Cardinals . 6. team. 849. . 6-6, 4-4

The Cardinals had an up and down season, finishing 6-6. The only non-competitive game the Cardinals played was their season-ending rivalry game against interstate rival Kentucky. Louisville joined Syracuse at the Heartbreak Hotel, losing three games by one possession.

The Cardinals have a one, six, and three-point loss this season. Louisville could have had a nine-win season with a break here or there in those games.
