Which conference in college football has the most teams heading to a bowl game in 2021? Let’s take a look at which league reigns supreme.

It’s bowl season, folks. You know what that means? Instead of drinking eggnog and talking about life with extended family, you can turn on some college football during the holidays and drown away the small talk with some postseason action.

There are some really fun bowl games to watch this postseason along with some elite NFL draft prospects to keep an eye on.

But before we can get into all that, which conferences seem to be the biggest powers after the 2021 season, sending the most teams to a bowl?

Let’s see which conference finished with the most bowl teams and which one has the fewest bowl-bound programs, starting with the lowest. Sorry, Sun Belt fans.

10. Sun Belt (4)

Tied with the Independents (Army, BYU, Liberty, Notre Dame), the Sun Belt has the fewest teams heading to the postseason to represent their conference in college football.

Only four teams in the league had more than five wins this season and it was a very top-heavy conference.

The best team had to be Louisiana which won the conference title despite not having Billy Napier who left for the head coaching job at Florida. The Ragin’ Cajuns will be playing in the R+L Carriers Bowl on Dec. 18 against Marshall after finishing the season ranked No. 23 with a 12-1 record.

Here are the other teams from the Sun Belt headed to a bowl game:

  • App State (Boca Raton Bowl) vs. Western Kentucky on Dec. 18
  • Coastal Carolina (Cure Bowl) vs. Northern Illinois on Dec. 17
  • Georgia State (Camellia Bowl) vs. Ball State on Dec. 25

The next conference on this list might surprise you.
