Auburn (Birmingham Bowl)

. 12 PM ET. 11-2. Tuesday, Dec. 28. 6-6. 842. 881. ESPN

TJ Finley was hurt during the Iron Bowl and was barely making it through each overtime, but it would seem that he will start at quarterback for the bowl game with Bo Nix out with a broken ankle. However, this is still a team that is barely bowl eligible — even though they took Alabama to the brink in the Iron Bowl.

I’m not sure that Finley is going to be able to make it through a bowl game as I am unsure of the severity of that ankle he was hobbling around on throughout the end of the Iron Bowl.

Houston was in their conference championship game and I think that they could take Auburn on and come out victorious.

Prediction: Houston

Florida (Gasparilla Bowl)

886. ABC. 6-6. 840. 7 PM ET. 8-4. . Thursday, Dec. 23

This is an interesting in-state matchup for sure. It would seem that Florida has dropped off significantly since the two-point loss to Alabama in the rematch of last year’s SEC Championship Game. Now, they sit with a brand new coach and have more questions than answers.

On the other side, UCF is 8-4 and is coached by Gus Malzahn who has just a little bit of SEC experience. Can Florida win a bowl game and salvage what has otherwise been a very disappointing season?

Prediction: UCF
