4. Kalanai Sitake, BYU

Sitake is a name to know in this Oregon football coaching search, in part, because the Ducks have already reached out and requested to interview the BYU head coach.

Sitake has done a great job in Provo, even leading the Cougars as an independent. BYU was 10-2 this season and the Cougs haven’t skipped a beat since he took over after 2015. He’s 48-28 as a head coach and is 21-3 the last two seasons.

Sitake also has a background in the Pac-12 with both Utah and Oregon State, where he was the defensive coordinator before leaving for the head coaching job at his alma mater.

Now, he makes perfect sense to be Oregon football’s next head coach. He’s not necessarily a big name, but Sitake has proven he can win at a program steeped in tradition. Give him a shot at Oregon, with truly elite resources and it would be fun to see what he could build.
