Ewers to Worthy will be unstoppable

One of those really exciting pieces I was talking about is wide receiver Xavier Worthy, who had an incredible freshman season for the Longhorns in 2021.

Worthy is 6-foot-1, 160 pounds, and has blazing speed. I’ve called him a bigger version of Desean Jackson in the past and he sure looked like it last season for Texas football catching 62 passes for 981 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Just imagine what he will do with Quinn Ewers playing quarterback?

The Longhorns have some other guys who surely aren’t just going to lay down and let Ewers take the job, but the 6-foot-2 signal-caller already has a season of college football under his belt and now that he’ll be able to take part in spring ball, it seems likely he will be the starter.

It’s likely that Ewers is going to seek an NFL career after two years in Texas. That’s just the way things work and he should be eligible since he would have spent three seasons out of high school.

Either way, that will give Texas football fans two years of Ewers to Worthy, which should be among college football’s best QB-WR duos for the next two seasons.
