Coastal Carolina will score a ton of points in the Cure Bowl 2021

The Chanticleers averaged more than 40 points per game this season, which is good enough for sixth-most in the nation.

The Chants are able to score so much because they have one of the best quarterbacks of just about any team in the Group of Five. They have quarterback Grayson McCall, the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year, who is must-see TV.

The Indian Trail, North Carolina native is a special player. He actually leads the country in passing efficiency rating with a rating of 207.0, placing him a full 25 points ahead of the second-best rating. That rating, 182.2, belongs to Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud.

McCall also leads the nation in passing yards per attempt. He’s averaging 12.1 yards per attempt, placing him ahead of second-place Georgia QB Stetson Bennett (10.1 yards per attempt).

McCall, despite missing some time due to injury, recorded more than 2,500 passing yards and 23 touchdowns during the season. He also took great care of the ball, surrendering just three interceptions all year long.

Expect McCall to spread that NIU defense out and connect with his receivers just like he has all year long. He’ll have a great back to hand off to in Shermari Jones. The senior back rushed for nearly 1,000 yards this season and accounted for 13 rushing touchdowns.
