The college football bowl season starts Friday with the 2021 Bahamas Bowl and here are the odds, as well as a prediction for Toledo vs Middle Tennessee State.

The 2021 Bahamas Bowl is significant to college football fans for one reason: It’s the first game of the bowl season and will end a five-day drought without the game we love.

It’s also a great game for players. Bowl games were always thought of as rewards for a quality season and you can’t ask for a better reward than a trip to the 2021 Bahamas Bowl if you are a player for Middle Tennessee State or Toledo.

The Blue Raiders (6-6) needed a win in their last game to get to bowl eligible and delivered by knocking off Florida Atlantic. Toledo (7-5) also was up and down this season and didn’t win more than two consecutive games all year. Yet, the Rockets could finish with an eight-win season.

Both teams have quarterbacks who have played well down the stretch, but neither offense is dynamic. Toledo does have a stellar defense, the best in the MAC in scoring defense which will be a key factor if the Rockets are able to win the game.

Here’s a look at the odds, as well as a prediction for the 2021 Bahamas Bowl.

Toledo vs Middle Tennessee State 2021 Bahamas Bowl odds

DeQuann Finn has been outstanding for the Rockets this season and has thrown 16 touchdown passes compared to just one interception. He’s also a dual-threat option which is a great fit for a stellar defense, which Toledo has.

The Rockets have numerous All-Mac defensive selections and led the conference in sacks. Jamal Hines is one of those guys and has been spectacular this season with 14.5 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks and eight passes batted down.

Nicholas Vattiato has taken over at quarterback for Middle Tennessee State and despite some struggles, he played well down the stretch and helped the Blue Raiders get into the postseason.

However, the running game will struggle against the Rockets defense, which will also get multiple sacks and a turnover or two in a 34-17 win.
