College Football Bowl Games: Friday, Dec. 17

Bahamas Bowl

The 2021-22 bowl season will open up in the beautiful Bahamas with a MAC vs Conference-USA matchup. As with many of these lesser bowls, the teams involved were barely bowl-eligible and are fairly evenly matched.

The Blue Raiders are just 2-6 in bowl games under head coach Rick Stockstill, and Toledo played what would widely be considered as a much more competitive schedule.

Pick: Rockets cover the 10 points. If the spread goes beyond 12, roll with Middle Tennessee to beat it.

Cure Bowl

MAC champion Northern Illinois, and former darlings of the Group of Five, Coastal Carolina, have one of the best matchups of the early bowl season.

The Chanticleers boast the No. 6 scoring offense in the nation. and when they have their passing game rolling they’re hard to stop. Conversely, the Huskies limp in defensively with the No. 107 scoring defense and a miserable 232 yards per game given up in the air.

It’s been a magical season for the Huskies, but they’ll likely be out of tricks in this game.

Pick: Take the ‘Cleers to cover up to 15.
