The UCF Football team has never defeated the big bad SEC school just a short drive up I-75 in Gainesville. This year could be the year that finally changes.

UCF football (8-4) has enjoyed six consecutive bowl game appearances in a streak that spans three different coaches. They have Gus Malzahn, who coached at Auburn for years and knows what it takes to beat top SEC teams.

Meanwhile, the Florida Gators (6-6) have finished with six wins or fewer just twice this century. They’ll be fighting with their pride on the line.

The game is sold-out, according to reports and there is a ton of excitement surrounding this match-up. Regardless of the outcome, the Knights and the Gators will be playing each other again in 2024 maybe as an SEC vs Big 12 match-up?

Gus Malzahn has strapped a rocket on the backs of his football team and they want more than anything to see that Florida ends up on the losing side of this rare and exciting in-state game.

UCF will treat this game as if they are the underdog, but with the number of Gators who are out due to the draft or transferring, the Knights have the upper hand.
