Michigan football has a top-10 recruiting class so far in 2022 and after the early signing period, here are three signees who’ll have an instant impact.

One of the positive impacts of winning the Big Ten championship and reaching the College Football Playoff is that it sure seems to help with recruiting and Michigan football has experienced that.

The Wolverines had an up-and-down recruiting cycle in 2022 and at times, it looked like the Wolverines were going to be closer to 15th than the top 10.

But things started to shift this fall. Jim Harbaugh signing a new contract helped but him leading Michigan football to a Big Ten title was even more important. Harbaugh will be getting another new deal very soon and he’s now as secure as any head coach in the country.

No more hot seat talk and negative recruiting for opponents. And the impact of that was seen on the recruiting trail and on early signing day as the Wolverines landed five new commitments.

Overall, Michigan football signed 22 prospects on early signing day and as of right now is ninth overall according to the 247 sports team rankings. Here are three who’ll make an instant impact.

3. Darrius Clemons, 4-star WR

Wide receiver is one of the strongest positions in Michigan football’s 2022 class with two four-star additions as well as Amorion Walker, a three-star with high upside flipped from Notre Dame on signing day.

Tyler Morris is another name to watch. He’s a top-100 caliber wideout but missed his senior season due to injury. So, another signing day addition, Darrius Clemons is a guy that could make an instant impact for the Wolverines.

At 6-foot-3, 205-pounds, with a laser 40 time of 4.37, Clemons would bring a combination of size and speed the Wolverines don’t really have right now.

That’s why he will have a chance to play right away and even though Michigan’s receiver room will be deep with Cornelius Johnson, Ronnie Bell, Andrel Anthony, and Mike Sainristil, Clemons will have the opportunity to play and make an impact right away due to his unique skillset.
