The 2021 CFB Playoffs are here and it begins with the Alabama Crimson Tide taking on the Cincinnati Bearcats in the 2021 Cotton Bowl.

Alabama, representing the SEC and ranked No. 1 in the country, will face off against the Group of Five powerhouse and No. 4 team in the country Cincinnati.

No Group of Five team has ever been in the playoffs, so we’re in uncharted waters here. But, the American Conference is the first conference that will get a shot at a national title.

We’re taking a look at three reasons why Cincinnati’s Cinderella story will come to an end when they face the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Nick Saban’s team has embraced the ‘yummy’ rat poison-mentality

The only thing scarier than a No. 1 ranked Alabama football team is a No. 1 ranked Alabama football team with a chip on its shoulder.

That’s exactly the team Cincinnati is going to face in the College Football Playoff. The team has embraced a mentality and mindset that Crimson Tide Head Coach Nick Saban has described using words like “yummy,” and “rat poison.”

The now infamous comments came in the immediate aftermath of demolishing top-ranked Georgia for the SEC Championship.

“The rat poison that you usually give us is usually fatal. But the rat poison that you put out there this week was yummy,” Saban said slyly.

This team has a massive chip on their shoulder and that’s not something we ordinarily see from Alabama. They’re ready to make a resounding statement at the expense of Cincinnati.
