1. C.J. Hicks, LB

Ohio State did a great job at recruiting the state of Ohio this recruiting cycle. That should come as no surprise, but the state had some of the best talent in the country and the Buckeyes got the ones they wanted.

Along with the aforementioned Sonny Styles, Ohio State got the top prospect in the state of Ohio in linebacker C.J. Hicks.

Hicks is the No. 2 overall linebacker in the 2022 recruiting class and No. 12 player overall. At 6-3, 215 pounds, Hicks possesses the kind of playmaking speed that the Buckeyes need at the position.

Ohio State has not had the most athletic linebackers in recent years and it was evident in the national championship game against Alabama. This year against Oregon and Michigan, the linebackers struggled to help stop the run. Look for Hicks to challenge for early playing time and get on the field and make an instant impact for Ohio State next fall.
