3 Reasons Utah Football will beat Ohio State in the Rose Bowl
After winning the PAC-12 Championship, Utah Football has its eyes set on beating Ohio State in the Rose Bowl
It has been a tale of two seasons for the Utah Utes. They came into the year as a trendy pick to win the PAC-12 South division and the conference title.
After some tough losses to BYU and San Diego State and Oregon State, there have not been many teams hotter than the Utes in the past two months. By the end of the season, Utah became the team that nobody wanted to play and have a ton of momentum heading into their Rose Bowl matchup with Ohio State.
This was the first PAC-12 championship that Utah football has won since moving to the conference nearly a decade ago. Head coach Kyle Whittingham has built this program to compete in a power five conference and this feels like the pinnacle of years of building. After losing to Oregon in 2019 and costing themselves a playoff spot, this was a great rebound for the program and they are heading to their first Rose Bowl.
On the other side, Ohio State is accustomed to playing in Rose Bowls, but the motivation might not be there this year. Ohio State had their sights set on a Big Ten Championship and a playoff birth. They are being forced to settle for a Rose Bowl game and that could factor into how much the Buckeyes want to be there. However, this team still has a ton of talent and could overwhelm the Utes with their speed and athleticism. This should be one of the most interesting games of the bowl season and should be a great game.
Here are the three reasons that Utah football will upset Ohio State in the Rose Bowl.
