Irish defense forces at least two turnovers

Notre Dame football really has had a great year at getting pressure on the quarterback and capitalizing with getting turnovers. Whether that be interceptions or fumbles the defense really has been great in Freeman’s first year in South Bend.

Spencer Sanders has thrown for 2,468 yards this season and 16 touchdowns, but he also has 12 interceptions. Four of those interceptions did come against Baylor in the Big 12 championship game but it goes to show you that he can be wild with his throws.

Sanders threw at least two interceptions in three of his game this year which says that if you are able to get constant pressure that it is very possible to get multiple turnovers from the talented Sanders.

The Irish are going to need their star rusher Isaiah Foskey to be in the backfield supplying that pressure all game making it difficult for Sanders. Even without Hamilton back there the defensive backs and linebackers really have held their own with getting their hands up and getting the ball back for the Notre Dame offense.  I Believe they will succeed in that and when it is all said and done, Sanders will have multiple turnovers which very well could be the difference between winning and losing the Fiesta Bowl.
