Oklahoma Football: 3 takeaways from Alamo Bowl victory over Oregon
2. Oregon limps to the finish
Comparing where Oregon was a few months ago to where they are now is almost like looking at two different teams.
If you take this back to October, we saw an Oregon team who had a win over Ohio State, a head coach who was building a special program, and legitimate playoff aspirations. The Ducks finished the season losing three out of their last four games.
They will head into 2022 with a new head coach, a new QB, and the loss of a potential #1 overall pick in Kayvon Thibodeaux.
The first half of this game looked no different than the two games against Utah. It was 30-3 and the Ducks were outmatched both physically and strategically.
Oregon would score 29 second-half points in an effort to show life. Travis Dye was a bright spot for Oregon as well, finishing the night with 181 total yards and a touchdown.
The hope for Oregon fans is that two additions from SEC in Dan Lanning and Bo Nix can get this program back on track.
Lanning is coming from a championship team that does not shy away from playing tough and physical. If he can successfully import this style into Oregon, the Ducks can get back to competing for a playoff spot.
