1. Bob Stoops steps up and adds to OU legacy

After the departure of Lincoln Riley, Oklahoma had many questions to answer and not much time to answer them. The temporary fix was made much easier by legendary OU head coach Bob Stoops returning to the position for this game.

Stoops had not coached for the Sooners since 2016 and had not coached football at all since his XFL stint with the Dallas Renegades. More recently, Stoops was working for FOX Sports and was a contributor to their pregame studio show throughout the season.

For Stoops to come to coach this game out of the blue, showed how he feels about this program. He led this team to a 47 point effort and had great energy on the sideline for the entire game. Also doesn’t hurt that he got to come back and have the best seat in the house to watch his son score a touchdown.

While the future of Oklahoma will be in the hands of Brett Venables, the legacy that Bob Stoops left behind is the standard for what Oklahoma head coaches should strive for.
