Highly touted quarterback Caleb Williams has announced he’s entering the transfer portal after winning being named the starter over incumbent Spencer Rattler during the 2021 season.

Williams, a Washington, D.C. native, was a the nation’s number one quarterback in the Recruiting Class of 2021, according to the Washington Post.

The quarterback posted a statement to his Twitter account and said that he’ll keep OU as an option moving forward during this process.

“I need to figure out what is the right path for me moving forward. According to NCAA rules, the only way I can speak to other schools and see who may offer the best preparation and development for my future career is by entering the portal. Staying at OU will definitely be an option I begin this process.”

Williams is good enough to pretty much pick where he’d like to play, just about any team would want him.

Here are five possible landing spots for the quarterback that finished 2021 with 1,192 passing yards, 21 touchdowns, and four interceptions to go along with 442 rushing yards and six touchdowns.

No. 5 Oklahoma is still an option for Caleb Williams

The quarterback himself stated that he could stay at Oklahoma and play for incoming coach Brent Venables. The young player wants time to decompress and speak with other teams to make sure he’s making the best possible choice for his future.

Don’t expect Williams to make a quick decision either, he said he’ll take his time and decompress after a huge win over Oregon in the 2021 Alamo Bowl.
