USC Football: 3 early 2022 signees who’ll have instant impacts
USC football seems to be on its way back to the top after hiring Lincoln Riley. Who are the signees from this class that’ll make an impact?
After floundering around for the past decade, USC football went out and made one of the boldest moves in recent memory. After firing Clay Helton early in the season, the Trojans went out and got one of the game’s most proven coaches in Lincoln Riley. This has caused USC to be able to pull some of the nation’s most talented recruits in a short span.
While they did sign some talented prospects, USC did not sign a big class. In the early signing period, the Trojans signed just seven prospects. This number will rise next year and USC can get some immediate help in the transfer portal. However, when a program signs a class this small, it can make it harder to get a quick turnaround.
Going forward, expect USC to challenge for No. 1 recruiting classes. Riley has already hit the ground running in 2023 by getting some early commitments from some of California’s top prospects. The key to getting USC back to the top of college football is to keep some of the top recruits from the west coast home.
While they only signed seven recruits in the early period, USC needs immediate improvement at early every position. Every guy that has signed is going to be given the chance to get on the field and make an impact for the Trojans. While USC might not be ready to compete for the college football playoff yet, the Pac-12 is wide open. It should not take long for Riley to have an impact in Los Angeles and win double-digit games for the Trojans.
Here are the three signees that will make an instant impact at USC next season.
