USC had one of the worst defenses in the country in 2021. Fixing this unit is one of the top priorities for USC heading into the next season. One of the best ways to do that is by signing one of the top safeties in the country.

Zion Branch is a top-50 player in the entire country and one of the most talented signees that the Trojans got this in this recruiting period. At 6-foot-2, 195 pounds, Branch is a physically impressive player at the safety position from nearby Bishop Gorman high school in Las Vegas.

Branch is a physical safety and plays very aggressively and that is something every defense needs. USC needs talent at every position on defense and in the secondary and Branch is going to make an immediate impact with Southern California next season.
