3. Bama is peaking

There were times this season where it looked like Georiga would roll through the Crimson Tide when the two teams met. And just imagine if Auburn had been able to beat Alabama?

Every championship team seems to have a moment like that. Or a lot of them do and ever since Alabama football rallied to win the Iron Bowl, the Tide have been a different team.

The defense has drastically improved over the past two weeks and shut down Desmond Ridder and Cincinnati completely. Alabama also notched six sacks after getting three against Georgia.

The pass rush will be essential on both sides Monday night. Bennett was pressured a lot more than Young (SEC title game) and he was also in third and long more often. That will be the aim for Alabama again on Monday.

Both offenses are elite and the key will be those impact plays on defense — turnovers, sacks, and red-zone stops. All things being equal, Georgia probably has the better defense, but Alabama is playing its best football, particularly in the trenches.

And if that continues, with all the things Bryce Young and Jameson Williams can do, Alabama football will win another national championship Monday night.
