You might be wondering why a team that finished 8-4 and withdrew from the Gator Bowl is projected this high in the rankings for 2022, and it’s because voters are going to heavily value the returning talent coupled with the No. 1 recruiting class in the country.

Mix that with the incoming transfer of Max Johnson at quarterback to create a heck of a battle with Haynes King and 2022 five-star recruit Conner Weigman. The quarterback position is going to improve drastically, and that’s not supposed to be a knock on Zach Calzada but rather praise for the added depth to the room.

The Aggies are bringing in one of the best recruiting classes in recent memory and that defense is going to be scary-good next season.

The receiving corps should be loaded for whoever takes over at quarterback, Devon Achane should be one of the best running backs in the SEC, and that offensive line should reload. This team is going to be incredibly balanced and easily the most talented, on paper, in the Jimbo Fisher era.
