Way-too-early AP Top 25 projections for 2022 college football season
Marcus Freeman has officially taken over for Brian Kelly as head coach and while no one expected that to happen when the season began, it’s actually a great move for the future of the program. He’s a young defensive mind who relates to recruits and can pull in top talent at an impressive clip.
Although his first action as head coach was a forgettable loss to Oklahoma State after building a big lead in the Fiesta Bowl, the Fighting Irish still have a lot coming back next year.
Gone, unfortunately, are Kyren Williams and Kyle Hamilton which will have a huge impact on the offense and defense, respectively, but returning are Chris Tyree, Lorenzo Styles, Tyler Buchner, and a number of defense studs.
Freeman is going to bring in one of the top recruiting classes in the country as well and you really have to be excited about the future if you’re a Notre Dame fan.
