Mississippi State Football: 3 Early Signees Who’ll Have an Instant Impact
Mississippi State Football overachieved in 2021 and got to seven wins for the season. After signing a top 25 class, who are the instant impact players for the Bulldogs next season?
Not many analysts predicted that Mississippi State football would get to a bowl game this season. Head coach Mike Leach was able to get the most out of his team and got them to a 7-6 season. However, it still felt like there was another gear for this team to hit. As double-digit favorites against Texas Tech in their bowl game, the Bulldogs were trounced 34-7 by the Red Raiders.
Leach had a good response to that end of the season defeat. He went out and signed a top 25 recruiting class for the next season. That is not an easy thing to do at Mississippi State football and it will help elevate the Bulldog’s play in the coming seasons if he can keep that up. Recruiting is everything in college football and especially in the SEC West.
For this recruiting class, it was pretty balanced as far as numbers at certain positions go. The Bulldogs elected to bring in four offensive linemen and four defensive linemen. Wide receiver was another position that Mississippi State decided to heavier on and bring in four recruits. This team next season is going to bring back a few veterans, so there are not going to be many positions up for grabs. However, that does not mean that any of these guys can’t break through and make an impact.
Here are the three early signees that will make an instant impact for Mississippi State in 2022.
