A much-needed classic

Maybe the game wasn’t as good as Clemson-Alabama where DeShaun Watson led a game-winning drive in the final seconds, but it was close.

There were multiple lead changes in the fourth quarter and until Kelee Ringo intercepted a pass by Young and returned it 79 yards for a touchdown, it was a one-score game throughout.

And after watching blowouts in the 2018, 2019, and 2020 CFP National Championship games, college football needed a good game last night and it got one.

Sure, some college football fans will complain about watching two SEC teams battle it out for the championship. Well, guess what? Expansion isn’t going to be for you because the SEC dominance isn’t going to end anytime soon.

Yet, with just over a minute to go, we had the Heisman Trophy winner, down by eight, with the ball, and trying to tie the national championship against an all-time great defense.

What better theatre could the National championship have provided? Young’s interception is the play we’ll all remember and it was a great ending, to a truly great game.
