It’s still early, but here are five college football teams to keep an eye on in 2022 as potential dark-horse national title contenders.

Miss college football yet? It’s only been a little over a week and if you’re anything like me, you feel a little empty inside without college football on TV every weekend.

We don’t get to wake up on Saturdays to College GameDay and a full slate of games for another eight months and that means we’re in the “way-too-early” portion of the offseason where we get to look ahead to what next season might look like.

Georgia finally broke its national title drought by beating Alabama in a rematch of the SEC title game and Kirby Smart and Co. might enter the 2022 season as the top team in the land. But Alabama is going to make a push for that top spot as well with the Heisman Trophy favorite at quarterback and a ton of key players returning.

There were some major coaching changes that will impact the outlook of next season as well. Major programs such as Notre Dame, LSU, USC, Florida, Miami, and Oklahoma all have new coaches and each one could make a push for a conference title.

But there are other programs that are flying under the radar despite having solid 2021 seasons and they may very well be the next surprise Michigan-like national title contender in 2022.

Which five teams may shock everyone and make a national title push in 2022?
