Pick Analysis. Sept 17. Austin, TX. 2410. Scouting Report. UTSA Roadrunners. 3. player

If only this game could have happened last season. UTSA has a claim to be the best football team in the state of Texas in 2021, going 12-2 and winning their conference. However, in 2022, the Roadrunners are going to have to reload quite a bit. Running back Sincere McCormick is gone and he was the guy that made the offense run nicely.

After being embarrassed by Alabama, Texas is going to need to win this one big before Big 12 play begins. The Longhorns will do just that, as the playmakers on offense will be too much for the UTSA defense to handle.

Final Score: Texas 45, UTSA 10 (2-1)

Sept 24. Texas Tech Red Raiders. Pick Analysis. Lubbock, TX. 4. player. 874. Scouting Report

For their first road game of the season, the Longhorns will take a trip to Lubbock to face Texas Tech and their new head coach Joey McGuire. McGuire was hired after former head coach Matt Wells was let go. The Red Raiders are still going to be throwing the ball around a lot and making things complicated for opposing defenses. This will be a major test to see how good the Texas defense is at this point.

The Red Raiders are certainly not going to forget that Texas was able to put up 70 points on them last year. That was an embarrassing performance for Texas Tech and one that it is hoping not to replicate. This game will be closer than last year’s, but the Red Raiders won’t have enough to upset Texas.

Final Score: Texas 42, Texas Tech 31 (3-1, 1-0 Big 12)
