2. Notre Dame

One team that could be a perfect fit for JT Daniels in the transfer portal is Notre Dame. The Irish do have a top-100 quarterback of their own as Tyler Buchner was a highly-touted prospect in the 2021 recruiting class and flashed in some early playing time last season.

Jack Coan has graduated though and the Irish did kick the tires on Keldon Slovis, another former USC quarterback, so that shows the Irish would at least be interested in a veteran quarterback and JT Daniels could be the ideal guy to come and shine for a year and then leave for the NFL.

Notre Dame is hoping Buchner will be elite but at Georgia, when he was healthy, Daniels proved he could play at an elite level, so it seems like a worthwhile pursuit.

1. Ole Miss

The early favorite to land Daniels and Burton is Ole Miss. The Rebels not only have a need at quarterback but could use a talent like Burton too.

Lane Kiffin has already hosted both Daniels and Burton for visits and if there is an early favorite to land both it would have to be the Rebels.

When you think about it though, it makes a ton of sense. Ole Miss has been after just about every top quarterback in the transfer portal and with Matt Corrall gone, there is a clear opening.

Daniels would essentially be guaranteed to start and on a program that just played in a New Years Six Bowl game.

Ole Miss checks all the boxes and it wouldn’t be the least bit shocking if that is where the combo of Daniels and Burton ended up.
