Although the 2021 season just ended, it’s never too early to look at some Arkansas football breakout candidates for next season.

Sam Pittman has been a godsend for the Arkansas football program and it’s what Razorback fans deserve after suffering through some rough Bret Bielema years as well as Chad Morris.

The Razorbacks started the turnaround in Pittman’s first year in 2020 and he got some guys to step up in the form of Feleipe Franks and some talented backs and receivers.

That turnaround continued in 2021 as the Razorbacks finished with a 9-4 record.

If Arkansas is going to continue the climb, it’ll need some guys to step up as breakout candidates. Which Razorbacks will take that next step toward becoming stars in 2022?

Hudson Henry, the younger brother of Hunter Henry, was a top-150 recruit a few years ago, but his career at Arkansas has been pretty quiet thus far.

Now that he’s getting an opportunity to be the starting tight end with Blake Kern moving on, I can see Henry living up to his potential. There was a ton of hype surrounding him when he committed to Arkansas but through three years, he has just 22 catches for 136 yards and a touchdown in nine games. He can do much more.

KJ Jefferson didn’t utilize tight ends a ton last season but I think that’ll change with Henry stepping up in 2022 and I think he has the potential to be an All-SEC honorable mention selection at the very least.

Arkansas needs Henry to break out next season and I think he finally will.
