Wisconsin football isn’t known for churning out NFL quarterbacks and since professional development is high on the list of importance for Caleb Williams, that would seem to knock out the Badgers. Only it doesn’t.

This wouldn’t be the first time a high-profile quarterback transferred to Wisconsin football and with Russell Wilson, it worked out pretty well. The Badgers won the Big Ten championship and Wilson went in the third round to Seattle.

Paul Chryst was the offensive coordinator back then and it seems that’s one reason Williams is seriously considering the Badgers. Evan Flood also reported that Caleb Williams is tight with Wilson and really looks up to him.

So if Wilson is telling him how great Chryst and the Badgers were for his development, that would certainly have to mean something. Plus, if Chryst follows through and hires Bobby Engram of the Ravens to be the Wisconsin football OC, that should also help.

Williams is from Washington, DC, and his family to close to Engram which would give the Badgers another reason to feel good about their chances.
