College Football Recruiting: 3 flips to watch on National Signing Day
College football recruiting has really amped up the past couple of weeks and it all leads up National Signing Day.
If you didn’t know, Wednesday is a big day when it comes to the college football recruiting calendar as it is National Signing Day for the 2022 cycle.
You might be wondering if there was already a signing day for this college football recruiting class and you would be right. There was one back in December.
That’s the early signing period for college football recruiting and while the majority of recruits signed back then, there are still some elite recruits available.
Outside of the five-star prospects, there are plenty of other future college football players available, and teams that didn’t satisfy needs at certain positions or lost guys to the transfer portal, or even brought in new coaching staffs, are busy at work in this late signing period.
There are a number of five-star prospects still on the list and these last few days are going to be essential. And with a number of recruits still verbally committed to schools but having not signed, a lot is going on in terms of trying to flip recruits.
And since the college football recruiting 2022 cycle is nearly over and the National Signing Day is just days away, here are look at three significant flips coming.
5-star Harold Perkins from Texas A&M to LSU/Florida?
Harold Perkins committed to Texas A&M football after the early signing period but decommitted on Jan. 24. The Aggies are still in the mix and are one of the finalists along with Florida and LSU but it seems likely Perkins ends up elsewhere.
As of right now, LSU and Florida both have momentum. Perkins is taking his final visit to Baton Rouge and it feels like Brian Kelly and company have turned the tide.
A&M could still win this though and then it wouldn’t really be a flip at all and it’s a long way until Tuesday, so anything can still happen.
