Georgia football close to landing its next star RB in the 2022 class
Three-star running back Andrew Paul isn’t a household name yet, but once Georgia football gets ahold of him, that’ll change.
There are just a few programs that can realistically argue that they deserve the title of “RBU” and Georgia football is one of them.
Over the years, the Bulldogs have been home to some of the best running backs in the country who have turned to the NFL to find success. The recent names that come to mind are Todd Gurley, Nick Chubb, D’Andre Swift, and Sony Michel. Those are just a handful of the successful backs who have carved out nice professional careers after their Georgia days.
Soon, the Bulldogs might be adding another name to that list from the 2022 class in the form of underrated three-star back Andrew Paul from Dallas, Texas.
Paul has been one of those late-risers in the recruiting rankings, going from unranked to the No. 529 composite player and 42nd-best running back after a huge senior season. He put up some gaudy numbers as a senior for Parish Episcopal School in Dallas, accounting for 2,824 yards and 44 touchdowns on 9.7 yards per carry.
His highlights are all you need to realize that he’s a special talent despite the lower ranking.
Paul received some big offers following his breakout season from the likes of Michigan, Michigan State, Clemson, Oregon, and the latest came from Georgia. That final offer from the Bulldogs on Jan. 23 may have changed his recruitment for good. He now looks like a heavy Georgia lean.
According to the 247Sports crystal ball, he’s trending heavily toward the Bulldogs with a signing day decision looming.
The three-star from Texas is going to be a star at the next level and Georgia is the perfect place for him to become a household name. Don’t be surprised if he’s contending for the Doak Walker Award in a couple of years. This would be a heck of a late haul for Georgia, especially since it looks like the Bulldogs are losing Jordan James to Oregon.
