As we approach 2022 National Signing Day for college football, here’s a look at Texas A&M football and other projected winners.

It has been a wild offseason in college football and things are about to ramp up again as National Signing Day arrives on Wednesday and with it comes the start of the late signing period for college football recruiting.

National Signing Day has always been one of the best days on the college football calendar and even though the early signing period has changed all of that, with most of the top recruits signing in December, there are still a number of five stars and key prospects available.

It won’t have the fireworks of early signing day but it will have an impact on the 2022 recruiting rankings for college football and here are the projected winners and losers for National Signing Day.

Projected Winner: Texas A&M football

While Texas A&M football might sign just one recruit on National Signing Day, the Aggies, who are ranked No. 1 right now in the 2022 class, have a chance to secure the highest-ranked college football recruiting class of all time.

The Aggies can do this with the addition of five-star defensive lineman Shemar Stewart, who is ranked as the No. 10 overall prospect. He’s 6-foot-6, 272 pounds, and would add yet another elite defender to Jimbo Fisher’s haul.

Incredibly, if Stewart signed with Texas A&M football would have 25 blue-chip prospects (4 and 5-star recruits) in the 2022 class. That’s incredible and that’s why the Aggies are going to be a big winner on Wednesday, even if there isn’t much activity.

That being said, Texas A&M is still in the mix for Harold Perkins and Jacoby Mathews — two other elite defenders — and with the Aggies, you never know.
