Projected loser: Michigan

No college football team is poised to lose more than Michigan. Jim Harbaugh could very well be the head coach of the Vikings by the end of the week and on National Signing Day, he’s going to be interviewing for the job instead of overseeing the signing of recruits.

Michigan isn’t expected to add to its 2022 recruiting class and it has a strong group overall. But Conerly Jr. was a target and Harbaugh’s NFL give-and-take has likely opened the door for other programs and couldn’t have helped in the pursuit of Paul either.

Projected loser: Florida

It’s hard to add Florida to this list because the Gators could be adding multiple commitments on National Signing Day including four-star tight end Arlis Boardingham.

But, things will feel a little empty for the Gators if they miss out on Harold Perkins, Jacoby Mathews, Caden Story, and TreVonte Citizen.

Still, it was a strong close for Billy Napier and Florida will likely be adding multiple four-star recruits, as well as a slew of three-star prospects to its class.

It will just feel a little like nearly signing a big-time free agent in the NBA, only to settle for someone on the mid-level exception.
