Notre Dame football is bringing in the No. 7 recruiting class in the country and these three guys could have instant impacts.

New head coach Marcus Freeman has done a fantastic job with Notre Dame football’s 2022 class, avoiding a massive disaster when Brian Kelly left abruptly for LSU.

The Irish have the No. 7 recruiting class in the country and he finished strong in the first official class since Kelly left for Baton Rouge. That’s a massive win for the program and it’s a sign that recruits really like Freeman and he’s relatable.

Which true freshmen in the 2022 class could play right away and have an impact next season?

Notre Dame is losing Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa to the NFL draft and that leaves a huge void on the defensive line. However, Isaiah Foskey and both Jayson and Justin Ademilola are all returning.

There still feels like there’s a need for some defensive line help and that’s where Tyson Ford comes in to play. The four-star defensive lineman is ranked the No. 119 overall player in the class as well as the 16th-best at his position, according to the composite. He has the size to play on the interior but he’s also capable of playing on the edge.

Ford is a 6-5, 260-pound monster up front who could come in right away and make the two-deep. He’s enrolled early and that’s always a good sign that a top recruit expects to play early and he’s going to have to work for it, but he’s definitely talented enough.

I’d be willing to bet we see a lot of Ford next season.
