USC Football: Way-too-Early Game-by-Game Predictions for 2022
After a story-filled offseason that landed USC a new head coach and star quarterback, how many games will the Trojans win in 2022?
No other team in the country made more headlines this offseason than USC. The Trojans have been a program that has been mired in mediocrity for over a decade and has not made the right moves to get back to the top. Getting Lincoln Riley from Oklahoma was a power move college football hasn’t seen in some time. Bringing his star quarterback from the same school is another unprecedented move.
Former Oklahoma quarterback Caleb Williams decided to follow Riley to Los Angeles after spending just a year in Norman. Williams is one of the most talented quarterbacks in college football and should elevate USC’s ceiling next season.
USC has done as good of a job as anyone using the transfer portal this offseason to help fill some gaps on their roster. This should make the transition for Riley smooth for next year as USC hopes to build one of the nation’s best-recruiting classes after getting some instant impact players for this year’s class. Guys like Travis Dye and Shane Lee should become playmakers next season for USC and help them contend in the PAC-12.
Being in the PAC-12, it is not hard to see the optimism surrounding USC football and the Trojans’ ability to make a big run next season. The schedule is not overly challenging and having Riley and Williams will make the Trojans contenders in every game they play next season.
Here are the way-too-early predictions for USC in 2022.
