Miami football will have a new coach with a talented quarterback next fall, how many wins will that result for the Hurricanes?

Miami football came into last season ranked in the top 15 and had expectations to compete for an ACC title. After getting crushed by Alabama to start the season, Miami stumbled to a bad start. Quarterback D’Eriq King was injured and out for the season and was being replaced by the little-known Tyler Van Dyke.

In the second half of the season, there were some positives for Miami. Van Dyke emerged as a potential star at the quarterback position, something Miami has been lacking. The Hurricanes started playing some of their more talented young players and seeing them emerge. They became one of the only teams to beat Pitt last season and had momentum.

However, the second-half surge was not enough for Manny Diaz to save his job. Miami seemed to realize that to get back to the top of college football, they were going to have to spend big.

They went out and hired Oregon head coach Mario Cristobal and made him one of the highest-paid coaches in the sport. Cristobal, a former player for Miami, is already making waves in recruiting and will bring an identity to this program that it has not seen in so long.

As for the 2022 season, it will be interesting to see what kind of expectations are on the Hurricanes. They may have the best quarterback in the ACC and Clemson is going through coaching turnover. Kenny Pickett has left Pitt and Sam Howell is no longer with North Carolina. There is a chance for Miami to make a run in the ACC. However, that has been said every year for the past 20 seasons.

Here are the way-too-early game-by-game predictions for Miami in 2022.
