Miami Football: Way-too-Early 2022 Depth Chart Projection
With very few NFL departures this offseason, how will the Miami Football depth chart look for the 2022 season?
Miami Football is going to be one of the most interesting teams to follow for the 2022 season. The biggest news is that Mario Cristobal left Oregon to come home to Miami to lead the Hurricanes back to prominence. They are returning one of the best quarterbacks in the country in Tyler Van Dyke, who could take another step forward. They have some really intriguing young skill talent that could really help this team become ACC contenders if they progress as projected.
On offense, it is not likely that there are going to be many new faces that are going to make the depth chart as starters. Van Dyke is locked in at quarterback and has a shot to be a first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Running back is going to have the explosive Jaylon Knighton returning and some intriguing depth. The wide receiver room is going to be missing Mike Harley and Charleston Rambo, but talented young guys waiting in the wings. Veteran tight end Will Mallory returns and the core of the offensive line returns.
The defense is where there could be some questions. Miami football is going to have departures along the defensive line and they are not as talented as Miami should be at linebacker. There is the experience in the secondary, but there is a lack of elite talent there as well. Both specialists return for this season as well.
Miami is hoping to win the Coastal division and challenge for the ACC Championship this season. They have talent, but depth could be a concern.
Here is the way-too-early projection for Miami Football’s 2022 depth chart.
