After falling short of winning its second straight national championship, how will the 2022 depth chart look for Alabama football?

Alabama football fell just short of winning back-back-to-national championships in 2021, but the Tide are going to enter as the favorites this upcoming season.

This has a chance to be an even better team than the one the Crimson Tide just fielded. They are going to have to deal with losses to the NFL as they always do, but they made smart decisions in the transfer portal and brought in another top-three recruiting class. Another thing going in Alabama’s favor is there is little coaching staff turnover this year.

Everything for Alabama is going to start with the return of Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young. Young is going to try to become only the second player to ever win the award twice and he should have another great season. Alabama added Georgia Tech running back transfer Jahmyr Gibbs to the backfield and that could be one of the best moves of the offseason.

The wide receiver room is going to be missing Jameson Williams and John Metchie, but Alabama landed Georgia wide receiver Jermaine Burton as a transfer and has recruited the position well.

Defensively, this team is going to be even better than they were last season. Will Anderson, who might be the best overall player in college football, is back to lead the unit. There are some losses in the secondary, but it’s another position that the Crimson Tide have gotten key transfers and recruited well.

Alabama has the most talented roster in college football and it can be tricky to figure out where all the pieces are going to fit on the depth chart.

Here is the way-too-early 2022 depth chart projection for Alabama.
