SEC Football: Newcomers who’ll have biggest impacts in 2022
By Dante Pryor
SEC football brings a host of new players next season. These players will have an immediate impact on their respective teams next season.
SEC football dominated this recruiting cycle, with 13 teams finishing in the top 36. Most notably, the SEC signed the top three classes in 2022. Texas A&M signed the greatest class in the history of recruiting rankings, breaking Alabama’s record set one year ago.
Alabama’s class had a higher average player rating (95.19) than Texas A&M (94.77). The Aggies class size (29 signees) ultimately puts them over the top. Last season’s National Champions, the Georgia Bulldogs, round out the top three with another loaded class.
The proclaimed “Portal King” Lane Kiffin and the Mississippi Rebels had the top transfer class this cycle, and Coach Kiffin celebrated in the most Coach Kiffin way:

The Rebels hauled in a class led by TCU transfer running back Zach Evans and USC transfer quarterback Jaxon Dart. Most intriguing about the Rebels’ portal signees is they are all underclassmen.
Even the Vanderbilt Commodores got in on a nice recruiting cycle. This recruiting class was Vandy’s best class since the James Franklin era. The Commodores finished the 2022 cycle with a 32nd ranked recruiting class.
The players on this list are a group that will find their way onto the field. These players are too talented to stay on the sidelines. Here are each SEC team’s most impactful newcomers.
