2. Bahamas Bowl (Dec. 24, 2014) — Nassau, Bahamas: WKU 49, CMU 48

Nothing about the Bahamas Bowl was supposed to be interesting, except the nation the venue was in. Both Western Kentucky and Central Michigan were unremarkable 7-5 squads. It was mere Christmas Eve filler programming for ESPN.

Yet, these two unremarkable teams, in this unremarkable venue, produced an unbelievable thriller.

Western Kentucky was dominant the first 50 minutes of the game. WKU quarterback Brandon Doughty had 375 yards passing and was part of six touchdowns in the first half, as the Hilltoppers stormed out to a 49-14 lead. Central Michigan was dead in the water.

Well, until they weren’t.

In the last 10 minutes of the game, Central Michigan went on a historic barrage, scoring 34 points in that time to put themselves in a position to win. The last touchdown was a miracle 75-yard pass with one second left. It included multiple laterals and finished with CMU receiver Titus Davis reaching out for the pylon.

The Chippewas smelled blood and went for the win down 49-48. But, their two-point conversion failed, the goal line fade route falling to the turf below.

Western Kentucky survived.
