1. The schedule is setting up nicely

Aside from landing a number of instant-impact transfers and a solid 2022 recruiting class that will boost the roster immediately, Billy Napier and the Gators are facing a relatively favorable schedule.

The season begins with a tough battle against Utah which will set the tone but it’s a game that comes at home and the Gators will likely be favored against the ranked Utes. A win there will give this team a ton of confidence heading into the next week against a pesky Kentucky team but that game, too, will be played in Gainesville.

A 2-0 start to the season could lead to four more wins in a row with the toughest test in that stretch coming at Tennessee. But that’s a game I see Florida potentially winning.

Sitting at 6-0 with LSU coming to town, Florida could be ranked in the top-15 range and I don’t see the Tigers winning big in Brian Kelly’s first year. There will be an adjustment period.

They then get Georgia in Jacksonville for the yearly rivalry battle and then at Texas A&M before ending the season with three games that should be wins (South Carolina, at Vanderbilt, at Florida State). If all goes as planned, the Gators will finish the season 10-2. This schedule isn’t too shabby without Alabama on it.
