2. Dani Dennis-Sutton

Last season, Penn State football didn’t have the greatest pass rush. There was only one defender that was credited with more than five sacks and that was former Temple transfer Arnold Ebiketie who had 9.5.

The problem is that Ebiketie is headed to the NFL and that Penn State doesn’t have any other edge rusher returning with more than three sacks last season.

There’s no need to fret though because Penn State football also signed an elite edge rusher in the 2022 recruiting class in Dani Dennis-Sutton. Sutton is 6-foot-5, 250 pounds and is ranked as the No. 7 defensive lineman according to the 247 sports composite rankings. Plus as you can see in the picture above, he plays hoops too — another indicator of his athleticism.

Out of Maryland, landing Dennis-Sutton was probably the most impressive recruiting win of the 2022 cycle for Penn State simply because every big-time program wanted him and James Franklin was able to get him.

And while he is projected to be a future first-round pick by 247 sports in large part because of his pass-rush ability, he can do a lot more than that. He’s strong against the run and he’s probably a guy that can start from day one at defensive end.

He didn’t enroll early so that could hurt his chances of starting right away, but he’s too talented not to make an impact for Penn State football in 2022.
