Last year’s BYU team was yet another good coaching job by Kalani Sitake. That team was powered by a decent Jaren Hall at quarterback and the magnificent Tyler Allgeier at tailback.

Allgeier is gone, but this BYU team returns a lot. Hall is back, and so are the top two receivers Puka Nacua and Gunner Romney. On defense, almost all major contributors are back. This includes Ben Bywater’s 102 tackles at linebacker, and Kaleb Hayes’ 11 passes broken up.

Boise State isn’t winning this one.

Final score: BYU 30, Boise State 17 (6-3, 3-2)

What a dreadful hand Ken Wilson has been dealt in his first head coaching job because everybody from last year’s team is gone.

Yes, everybody.

Most obvious is quarterback Carson Strong and wide receiver Romeo Doubs, but the other three top targets for Strong have all either graduated or transferred to Colorado State to join former Nevada coach Jay Norvell.

On defense, this trend continues, with only defensive tackle Dom Peterson and his 5.5 sacks returning. Every other major contributor is off and away.

This is a “get right” game for Boise.

Final score: Boise State 41, Nevada 7 (7-3, 4-2)
