The self-proclaimed “Portal King” went out and found a couple of safeties in the transfer market in Ladarius Tennison and Isheem Young but one that may come in and compete right away as a freshman in Taylor Groves.

Groves is a four-star safety from Tennessee who is a dual-sport athlete and he can also play on both sides of the ball. He was recruited by Lane Kiffin as a safety and with the Rebels’ secondary losing a ton of depth this offseason, especially at safety. The two-deep is looking relatively bare in the secondary and that’s where Groves comes into play.

Ole Miss will rely on some newcomers to contribute in the secondary and Groves is every bit as talented as the transfers coming in at the safety position as well.

Groves is ranked the No. 213 overall prospect and 17th-best safety in the class, according to 247Sports. He has decent size at 6-foot-2 and 182 pounds and has the look of an ideal free safety for Kiffin and this Rebel defense.
