At least for the first game, Auburn is going to get a chance to get a warm-up game before the real challenges begin. Mercer is a consistent FCS program that is used to playing SEC schools, but they are going to be no match for Auburn on the road.

For the Tigers in this game, the main key will be getting out of the game healthy. It will also be a chance for some of the new faces on the team to make an impact in the first game.

Final Score: Auburn 55, Mercer 10 (1-0)

After opening up with a soft game against Mercer, Auburn will be welcoming in one of the Mountain West’s top teams from the past couple of years. However, San Jose State did have a down year in 2021 and will be looking to have a bounce-back season.

Despite the Spartans being a usually tough opponent, this should not be much of a problem for Auburn, even with all of their problems. For the Tigers, this is another game in which they are hoping to stay healthy and hopefully see some guys step up in certain spots. It won’t be as easy as the Mercer victory, but expect Auburn to roll in this game.

Final Score: Auburn 38, San Jose State 7 (2-0)
