What an odd scheduling quirk for North Carolina. They not only have to visit App State, but the Tar Heels must take a trip to Atlanta to take on Georgia State. Playing two teams from the Sun Belt is unusual for a power five team, especially one like North Carolina. North Carolina beat the Panthers handily last season, 55-17.

Georgia State has been steadily improving as a program and had a solid season in 2021. They won five of their final six games and upset Coastal Carolina in the process of winning their bowl game. It will be tough for the Panthers to win this game, however, even if it is at home.

Final Score: North Carolina 44, Georgia State 20 (3-0)

player. Scouting Report. Chapel Hill, NC. 4. 819. Pick Analysis. Sept 24. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

This is going to be the biggest test of the young season for North Carolina up to this point. They have had a couple of interesting games in a row against Notre Dame, but have been unable to take down the Fighting Irish. This time, the game is in Chapel Hill and North Carolina football hopes it can score one of their biggest victories since Mack Brown returned in 2019.

Notre Dame is going to be returning a few starters from last season’s team but will be missing some guys in some key areas. A new quarterback will be taking over and that could determine how much of a contender Notre Dame ends up being. The Fighting Irish will notch another close victory over North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

Final Score: North Carolina 20, Notre Dame 27 (3-1)
