Notre Dame football has a number of elite programs on its future schedule, but which three opponents should the Irish add to the list?

If you’re a Notre Dame football fan, you have to love the constant changing of schedules and opponents year to year. Unlike teams that are tied to conferences, the Irish being Independent just means that they get to switch it up every season and and schedule every team on their own terms.

The Irish have scheduled plenty of exciting matchups over the years such as Georgia, Cincinnati, Clemson, Wisconsin, Michigan State, and Michigan along with some annual rivalry battles against USC.

Notre Dame has brought a ton of eyes to college football with some of these big-time matchups and there are even more scheduled over the next few years.

In fact, the Irish have home-and-homes with Clemson and Ohio State in 2022 and 2023 as well as a matchup with fellow Independent BYU in 2022. They have home-and-homes with Texas A&M and Miami in 2024 and 2025, Michigan State in 2026 and 2027, and future matchups with Clemson, Miami, Arkansas, Alabama, and Florida, among others.

It’s fair to say that Notre Dame isn’t afraid to schedule some of college football’s biggest powerhouses, but who else should they add to the slate over the coming years?
