Wide Receiver

Starting Z Receiver: Ontaria Wilson

Backup: Mycah Pittman

Starting X Reciever: Malik McClain

Backup: Johnny Wilson

Starting Slot Receiver: Winston Wright

Backup: Keyshawn Helton

This is going to be an interesting position to watch this spring and into the season. There are not many proven playmakers and even though the guys above are projected to start, they have nothing locked up yet. To further complicate the position further, Florida State football brought in four transfer receivers.

Ontaria Wilson was the leading receiver for the Seminoles and he should have a starting spot to start the season. The other receiver that is back for Florida State is Malik McClain. McClain did not put up huge numbers last season but brings experience.

It will be very intriguing to see where the four transfer receivers fit in. Winston Wright is coming over from West Virginia and he is projected to be a playmaker in the slot. Mycah Pittman from Oregon and Johnny Wilson from Arizona State should also find roles, especially Wilson, who is 6’6.

This team is going to need a few of these guys to step up to help evolve the offense. Spring practice should give us a good glimpse of what the offense will look like in 2022.
