If things are going to be different for Nebraska football in 2022, the Huskers have to open with a win against Northwestern. Frost is 2-2 during his career against the Wildcats and one of the three wins last season came in a 56-7 win last season.

That’s not going to happen again. But new starting quarterback Casey Thompson needs to get off to a quick start and prove he can succeed where Adrian Martinez failed. This will be a tight game but the Huskers will be able to throw to win and that will make a huge difference.

Final score: Nebraska 31, Northwestern 24 (1-0)

Not to be confused with North Dakota State, North Dakota finished eighth in the Missouri Valley Conference last season and should be a fairly easy win for Nebraska football.

With all the big offseason changes, the Huskers need to build momentum early in 2022 and following a conference win, with a home blowout, is the ideal start for Nebraska.

Final score: Nebraska 52, North Dakota 20 (2-0)
