Texas A&M Football: 3 future opponents Aggies should schedule
1. Florida State Seminoles
This is the obvious No. 1, in my opinion. Not only has Jimbo Fisher never faced his old program since leaving it suddenly during a disastrous 2017 season — which Seminole fans still aren’t over, by the way — but the Aggies have never beaten Florida State.
Florida State and Texas A&M have only faced four times in the history of both programs and the last matchup came all the way back in 1998 when Bobby Bowden was still head coach.
What better way to pay tribute to his late mentor than to schedule the program that got Fisher started as a head coach? Every Florida State fan would love this matchup and you know Texas A&M fans would also embrace this “rivalry” of sorts.
The Seminoles haven’t been a national power since Fisher left while Texas A&M is still trying to become a consistent powerhouse. This would be a fun matchup for everyone involved and it’s been long overdue since just two matchups in the 1990s and none since.
